1 - Introduction

1Password is a password manager that helps you manage and secure all your passwords and online accounts. 1Password helps you generate, store, and autofill strong, unique passwords when you need them without making it a secret. With 1Password, you only need to track one master password, while the rest of your passwords are securely stored in 1Password.

Your organization uses 1Password, and you have received an email with an invitation to join 1Password. Now you're wondering, how do I accept this invitation? This guide will help you through all steps. 

Step 1.

Open the mail you received from 1Password with the subject which looks somewhat like this: "Join [Organization] on 1Password". 

The mail will look somewhat like this: 

Step 2.

Click the blue button "Join now". A new browser tab will be opened. 

Step 3.

Fill in your Full Name and click "Next". 

Step 4.

Read the text carefully and click "Next".

Step 5.

Think off one strong password and fill it in twice. This will be the to unlock 1Password and will be the only password you'll need to remember from now on! 

After entering your new password click "Next". 

Step 6.

You will asked to generate a secret key. Your secret key is unique and should never be shared with anyone. You'll need your secret key when setting up new devices, so don't lose it! 

Step 7.

After your secret key has been generated you'll be able to save it as a .PDF file. Store this file safely. 

Step 8.

You have succesfully saved your secret key. Click "Next". 

Step 9. 

You have succesfully set up your 1Password account and will be redirected to your dashboard!
